Members of the 2005 Texas A&M softball team received their Big 12 Championship rings at halftime of last week's men's basketball game against Kansas at Reed Arena.
The Aggies went 47-10 in '05, winning the school's first conference title with a 14-4 mark. A&M won an NCAA Regional for the first time since 1994 and advanced to the NCAA Super Regional round.
Two-time reigning Big 12 Coach of the Year Jo Evans returns seven starters and all five pitchers in 2006 from last year's squad while bringing in another talented group of freshmen.
The Aggies open the season on Friday, Feb. 10 at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz. A&M will meet No. 17 Fresno State, Nevada, Syracuse, No. 5 Arizona and No. 12 Oregon State over the weekend. Live audio of all the games will be available right here on aggieathletics.com.
