Andrew Parr carded four-under-par 67 on Tuesday to lift the No. 16-ranked Texas A&M men's golf team to a seventh place finish at the PING Arizona Intercollegiate at Arizona National Golf Club.
No. 11 Brigham Young captured the team title with an 18-under total of 283-265-286=834, finishing nine shots ahead of No. 10 Arizona State and host Arizona, who tied for second at 843. New Mexico was fourth at 848, followed by No. 25 Pepperdine (850), Tulsa (850), A&M (288-287-287=862), No. 23 Texas (863), Arizona B (865), Denver (867), UC Irvine (877), Texas-El Paso (890), New Mexico State (890), California (904), Oregon State (904) and Oregon (918).
The Aggies were in 10th place entering the final round.
Parr tied for 12th in the individual standings with a 72-73-67=212 total, while Jerad Harklau tied for 35th (76-71-71=218), Bronson Burgoon tied for 40th (75-70-74=219), Trey Todd tied for 46th (67-78-75=220) and Robert Gates tied for 56th (74-73-77=224).
"We played better today under more difficult conditions," A&M coach J.T. Higgins said. "The guys just responded and played Aggie golf."
The Aggies are back in action at the Southern Highlands Intercollegiate March 10-11 in Las Vegas, Nev.
