Texas A&M senior Chris Walker has been named to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District 6 first-team squad as selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Walker's name will now be placed on the national ballot for ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-America team, which will be announced on March 1. District 6 includes Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana and New Mexico.
Walker has started in 14 of 21 games this season and in all 26 Big 12 games in his career. This season, he is making 50.0 percent (11-of-22) from three-point range in league play.
A senior from Grapevine, Texas, Walker graduated in December with a degree in computer science and is attending graduate school. He earned Academic All-Big 12 honors last season.
