First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the brand new Baseball Complex at Sam Houston State.

The Aggies (3-0) won two of the three games against Northwestern State in their final trip to the plate. A&M posted 10-4 victory on Friday to earn first-year head coach Rob Childress his first-career win, before winning Saturday's game, 5-4, on a 13th-inning RBI single by Josh Stinson. The Aggies completed the sweep on Sunday when John Infante perfectly executed a squeeze bunt to plate Adam Hale in the bottom of the ninth for a 2-1 win.

Sam Houston (3-0) also started the season with a sweep at home. The Bearkats easily handled Texas Southern in a three-game series played Saturday and Sunday.

Sophomore right-hander Chance Corgan will get the start for the Aggies on Tuesday. Corgan tossed 2 2/3 innings in Saturday's game against NSU, allowing two runs on two hits. He struck out three and walked one. Corgan started 10 games last year and finished the 2005 season with a 4-3 record and an ERA of 4.45.

Sam Houston will counter with junior right-hander Matt Heinrich. Heinrich fanned four Texas Southern hitters in two innings of relief work this past Saturday.

The Aggies and Bearkats have faced each other 116 times since the series began in 1950. A&M holds the all-time advantage in the series, 78-36-2, and have won 10 of the last 11 games between the two schools. Their last meeting of 2005 resulted in a 6-6 tie when the game was called after the eighth inning due to rain.
