Texas A&M will look to expand on its four-game winning streak this weekend as they host Northern Colorado in a three-game set at Olsen this weekend.
Please note the schedule has changed from the original three-date series. The teams will now play two games on Friday and one on Saturday, weather permitting. .
Texas A&M moved to 4-0 on Tuesday with its first road win of the season over Sam Houston State, 7-4. A&M jumped out to a 7-0 lead and held on as Hart Hering entered the game and retired all four men he faced to earn the save. Chance Corgan pitched five solid innings to earn the win and Jose Salazar went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three runs scored to pace the Aggies offensively.

The Aggies opened the season with a three-game sweep of defending Southland Conference Champion Northwestern State. A&M won the first game handily, 10-4, then won the Saturday and Sunday contests in its final trip to the plate. Saturday, Josh Stinson delivered the game-winning single in the bottom of the 13th to earn the Aggies a 4-3 win and Sunday, John Infante's squeeze bunt in the bottom of the ninth plated Adam Hale to give A&M a 2-1 win.
This will be the first-ever meeting between Northern Colorado and Texas A&M.
The Bears, an NCAA Division I Independent, enters the series with a record of 2-2 after defeating Air Force, 13-5, on February 8. The Bears will be playing their first game since then, after having eight days off. UNC opened the season in Edinburg, Texas, at the UTPA Classic. The Bears went 1-2 in the tournament by defeating Lamar, 11-7, and dropping games to Texas-Pan American (1-2) and Gonzaga (5-2).
TICKETS
Tickets to all Texas A&M home games can be purchased by calling the Texas A&M Athletic Ticket Office at (979) 845-2311 or (888) 99-AGGIE. Fans may also purchase tickets online at 12thmanfoundation.com. The gates at Olsen Field open 90 minutes prior to first pitch for non-conference games and two hours prior to first pitch for conference games.
RADIO
All Texas A&M baseball games will be broadcast live on WTAW AM-1620. Dave South, The Voice of the Aggies, will call the action and will be assisted throughout the season by Tom Turbiville, Chuck Glenewinkel and Gabe Bock. The pre-game show will begin 30 minutes prior to the start of each game.

- GAME 1: Kyle Nicholson - Junior - RHP
For the second straight week, junior right-hander Kyle Nicholson will get the starting nod for the Aggies in the series opener. Last week against Northwestern State, Nicholson lasted 5.1 innings, allowing four runs - one earned - on seven hits. He struck out seven hitters and walked just one. Nicholson, a home-grown product from College Station, appeared in 21 games in 2005, but did not register a start. He finished the year with a 3-0 record and an ERA of 3.35 in 40.1 innings.
- GAME 2: Kyle Thebeau - Freshman - RHP
True freshman flame-thrower Kyle Thebeau will start the second game of a three-game set for the second straight week. Last week against Northwestern State, Thebeau tossed 5.1 innings, allowing one run on just two hits in his collegiate debut. He struck out seven and walked three. Thebeau, a former member of the USA Baseball Youth National Team, struck out 76 hitters in 48 innings of work as a senior at Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, Texas.
- GAME 3: Austin Creps - Junior - RHP
Veteran right-hander Austin Creps will start his second straight Sunday game. Creps was brilliant last Sunday against Northwestern State, allowing one run on three hits in seven-complete innings of work. Creps, a junior form Spring, Texas, fanned a cereer-high eight hitters and walked just one. Creps started seven games in 2005 and appeared in 11. He finished the year with a 2-1 record while recording an ERA of 4.28 in 40.0 innings of work.

Coming into the season, Texas A&M baseball fans knew to expect a fast-paced, run-and-hit offense from offensive coach Matt Deggs. And they got it. On opening night, the Aggies stole a school-record 12 bases against Northwestern State in a 10-4 win. The old record (10) was set in 1947 against Rice. Blake Stouffer led the charge with three stolen bases, while Brandon Glover, John Infante, Parker Dalton and Josh Stinson each had two. Jess Buenger kicked in the 12th. Five of the 12 steals came in the Aggies seven-run third inning. The NCAA record for stolen bases in an inning is eight and the record for stolen bases in a game is 22.

WIN NUMBER ONE
First-year Texas A&M head coach Rob Childress did not have to wait long to earn his first win as a Division I head coach. On opening night of the 2006 season, the Aggies defeated Northwestern State, 10-4. After the game in the team meeting, Hart Hering, who struck out all three hitters he faced in the ninth to seal the victory, presented Childress with game ball.
MOVE 'EM ON OVER
Texas A&M hitters can bunt and will bunt. A lot. In four games, the Aggies have six sacrifice bunts. The Aggies also have three bunt singles in four tries. John Infante leads the way with two sac bunts and two bunt singles. His successful suicide squeeze in the bottom of the ninth against Northwestern State (2/12) won the game for the Aggies, 2-1.
