The annual Texas A&M ?Night of Champions?, a football weightlifting exhibition, will be held Thursday, Mar. 2 on the main floor of G. Rollie White Coliseum. Admission is free and 12th Man Rewards staff will be stamping the event. The event will start at 7 p.m. and should last approximately one hour.

?We have had excellent off-season workouts,? Aggie Head Football Coach Dennis Franchione said. ?Coach (Ben) Pollard and the strength staff select the players. It is an honor to be selected. It is a high energy event and the fans are loud and supportive. The other team members do a great job of encouraging the guys and we?™ve seen a lot of records fall through the years.?

The exhibition event features max testing in three lifts: bench press, squat and the hang clean. In addition, several players will participate in a dunk contest, a vertical jump competition as well as the 225-pound bench for maximum number of reps much like the NFL combine.

Some of the players participating include: Ty Branyon, Steven Blazek, Arkeith Brown, Red Bryant, Melvin Bullitt, Corey Clark, Michael Corey, Kirk Elder, Rawley Ferrell, Devin Gregg, Chris Harrington, Nick LaMantia, Brandon Leone, Daniel Mach, Cyril Obiozor, Jordan Peterson, J Pond, Bryce Reed, L?™Tydrick Riley, Travis Schneider, Michael Shumard, Chris Smith, Earvin Taylor, Samson Taylor, Marques Thornton, Vincent Williams, and Chris Yoder.

Parking is available in Lot 62 on the press box side of Kyle Field, or fans can park across the street from G. Rollie White in the University Center parking garage for a fee.
