The back-to-back Big 12 Champion Texas A&M soccer team will play host to the United States Under-20 National team on Thursday at the Aggie Soccer Stadium. Game-time is for 7:00 p.m.

?As a soccer fan, I am really excited about the opportunity to see a USA National Team play in my hometown,? commented A&M head coach G Guerrieri. ?And, as coach of the Aggies, I?â„¢m much honored to be able to share our facility and get a game in against the USA.

The USA team will continue preparation for the 2006 FIFA U-20 Women?â„¢s World Championship (held Aug 12- Sept. 3 in Russia) at the Aggie Soccer Stadium in College Station. The USA team will arrive in Aggieland Wednesday and will begin practice Thursday morning, with four games to follow over the course of the weekend leading into spring break.

After the match against the Aggies on Thursday, the USA will continue to base itself at the Aggie Soccer Stadium for three more games. At 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 10th they play Marquette University (an NCAA Sweet Sixteen team last fall). On Saturday at 10:00 a.m., the USA will play another NCAA Tournament team, BYU. Then on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. they will wrap up their time in Aggieland with a game against the SEC Tournament Champions from Vanderbilt.

?It?â„¢s neat to see how the ?'Road to Russia?â„¢ goes through Aggieland,? Guerrieri continued. ?We are all hoping that the United States can win the U20 World Championship in August and I?â„¢m pleased to be able to help them get a step closer to that goal this week in College Station.?

The Aggies are currently 4-0 in spring games, having beaten their opponents by a combined score of 15-1.

All matches are free to the public and parking is available in lots 100j and 100k. Log on to www.AggieAthletics.com for a complete schedule of the Aggies?â„¢ spring games.
