The No. 25-ranked Texas A&M men's golf team carded a 303 on Friday in cold, snowy conditions and is in sixth place at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship at Southern Highlands Golf Club.

Top-ranked Georgia and No. 13 UNLV are tied for the lead after posting seven-over-par 295s. No. 4 Georgia Tech is in third at 297, followed by No. 2 Oklahoma State (299), No. 15 Clemson (301), A&M, No. 5 UCLA (304), No. 3 Florida (305), Washington (309), No. 10 Duke (310), No. 19 Arizona State (311), Texas (311), No. 16 Wake Forest (314), No. 18 New Mexico (316), and Arizona (322).

UCLA's Daniel Im is the individual leader after firing a three-under 69. UNLV's C.J. Gatto was the only other player in the field to break par with a one-under 71.

A&M sophomore Robert Gates and freshman Bronson Burgoon are tied for 18th at 75. Senior Andrew Parr is tied for 21st (76), senior Jerad Harklau is tied for 32nd (77) and sophomore Martin Piller is tied for 54th (80).

"I was really proud of the way we played under very tough conditions," A&M coach J.T. Higgins said. "It was really cold but we showed great toughness and put out tremendous effort. The conditions are supposed to be even worse on Saturday, so we'll just have to be tougher than everyone else."
