The No. 25-ranked Texas A&M men's golf team carded a 300 on Saturday and is in ninth place after two rounds of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship at Southern Highlands Golf Club.

Top-ranked Georgia and No. 13 UNLV are tied for the lead at 589. No. 5 UCLA is in third (591), followed by No. 2 Oklahoma State (592), No. 4 Georgia Tech (593), No. 15 Clemson (595), No. 19 Arizona State (311), No. 3 Florida (599), A&M (303-300=603), No. 18 New Mexico (610), Washington (611), No. 10 Duke (614), No. 16 Wake Forest (618), Texas (628) and Arizona (631).

Georgia's Chris Kirk leads the individual standings with a 73-67=140 total. UCLA's Daniel Im is in second at 69-73=142.

A&M sophomore Robert Gates is tied for 21st at 75-75=150. Freshman Bronson Burgoon (75-77=152) and senior Jerad Harklau (77-75=152) are tied for 31st, sophomore Martin Piller (80-73=153) is tied for 39th and senior Andrew Parr (76-78=154) is tied for 47th.

"The conditions were unbelievable today," A&M coach J.T. Higgins said. "It was very cold and windy. We were in good position through 14 holes, but played the last four in seven over par. We didn't finish as strong as we'd like, but I really like this team and feel good about the way they are competing."
