Freshman Bronson Burgoon fired a two-under-par 70 on Tuesday to lead No. 12-ranked Texas A&M to a sixth-place finish at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate at Austin Country Club.
No. 2 Oklahoma State captured the title with a 283-282-284=850 total, followed by No. 19 Texas Tech (859), No. 7 Brigham Young (863), Texas (864), Oklahoma (868), A&M (297-282-292=871), No. 23 Southern California (877), TCU (878), Arkansas (878), No. 4 Georgia Tech (885), Stanford (885), SMU (885), No. 9 Georgia State (886), No. 11 Baylor (890), No. 17 Tulsa (895), Fresno State (906), No. 17 Pepperdine (907) and Ohio State (908).
BYU's Oscar Alvarez won individual honors with a seven-under total of 69-68-72=209.
Burgoon (76-71-70=217) and sophomore Martin Piller (74-70-73=217) tied for 17th, while senior Jerad Harklau (74-70-75=219) tied for 29th, senior Andrew Parr (73-71-77=221) tied for 36th and sophomore Robert Gates (78-72-74=224) tied for 49th.
A&M plays host to the Aggie Invitational April 15-16 at Traditions Golf Club in Bryan.
