The Texas A&M volleyball team has pulled out of the Rice Spring Tournament slated for Saturday in Houston, Aggie coach Laurie Corbelli announced.

?We have only seven players who are able to compete, and several of them have minor injuries or illnesses or are not at full strength following off-season surgery,? Corbelli said. ?I felt it was in the best interest of our team to take the weekend off and allow more time to heal and not risk further injury.?

The Aggies were scheduled to play three matches in the one-day tournament.

The Aggies are 2-2 in the spring after going 1-1 last Saturday in College Station. A&M defeated San Jacinto College, 30-28, 30-22, 30-22, and fell to Houston, 30-20, 26-30, 23-30, at G. Rollie White Coliseum.

A&M concludes its spring exhibition season Saturday, April 22, at a tournament hosted by Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Mo.
