"Texas is having a great season," commented A&M head coach Jo Evans. "They have improved offensively and their pitching staff is doing a great job. We played well against Texas earlier in the season and I expect this game to be a great match-up. Our team is coming off a good win at Texas Tech and I expect us to carry that momentum into Wednesday night's game."

The Aggies are coming into Wednesday's game with a 25-10 overall record and are currently 4-1 in Big 12 play. A&M split the two-game series (2-3, 7-5) with Texas Tech, at Rocky Johnson field in Lubbock, this past weekend.

The Longhorns played a doubleheader against Iowa State last Saturday at ISU's Southwest Athletic Complex in Ames. The Longhorns swept the Cyclones, 3-1 and 6-0 to improve to 38-3 overall and 5-0 in the conference.

A&M and Texas last faced-off in March in the title game of the Judi Garman Classic. UT won the game 1-0 on a base hit in the bottom of the fourth by Megan Willis that scored Desiree Williams from third.

Megan Gibson currently leads the Aggie batters with a .303 average. She's hit nine homers and five doubles and has driven in 24 runs. Gibson (13-3) is also leading the Aggie pitchers in the circle. She's earned a 2.30 ERA in 100.1 innings of work. Gibson's counterpart, Amanda Scarborough has a 2.42 ERA with a 10-5 record on the mound. Scarborough has thrown 95.1 innings, striking out a team leading, 95 batters.

For Texas, shortstop Desiree Williams (.385) is the top hitter. Williams has logged 33 RBI on nine home runs, seven doubles and three triples. Cat Osterman is toting an impressive 0.22 ERA. In 157.2 innings of work, Osterman has struck out 360 batters.

Last season A&M and UT split the season series, with Texas winning 3-0 in Austin and A&M winning 5-3 in College Station. The Longhorns lead the all-time series over the Aggies, 13-10.

The game will be televised live by CSTV and can be heard on Sports Radio 1150 The Zone. Live audio and stats for the game will also be available at AggieAthletics.com. Fans attending the game can listen from inside McCombs field on the low end of the FM dial.
