"These are going to be big games for us," commented A&M head coach Jo Evans. "We are coming off a great win against Oklahoma and we need to carry that confidence and intensity into this doubleheader against Oklahoma State. Conference doubleheaders are always a challenge, so our team will need to stay focused in order to take two wins from OSU. Our pitching staff and defense are doing a good job and our offense has been coming around. We just need to see some consistency throughout our batting order and continue to gain momentum going into the second half of the conference season."

The Aggies come into Wednesday having split the series with the 21st-ranked Oklahoma Sooners, this past weekend in College Station. OU shutout A&M on Saturday, 4-0. However, on Sunday, the Aggie bats were on fire, scattering 11 hits en route to a 5-1 victory.

The Cowgirls faced the 17th-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers in Stillwater over the weekend. OSU lost the first game 10-0 before dropping a heartbreaker in the top of the seventh when the Cornhuskers hit a solo shot to win the game 5-4.

Megan Gibson continues to lead the Aggies at the plate. Gibson is hitting .323 with nine home runs, seven doubles and 26 runs driven in. In the circle, Amanda Scarborough (12-5) has allowed just three hits in her last two starts. She's struckout a total of 107 batters this season and currently holds a 2.18 ERA.

For Oklahoma State, outfielder Shanel Scott is the top batter, hitting .362 with two doubles, two triples and 11 RBI. First baseman Kim Kaye is batting .304 with seven home runs, nine doubles, one triple and 33 RBI. Jessica Hoppock is 9-14 on the mound, for the Cowgirls, with a 3.64 ERA. She's thrown 142.1 innings allowing 74 earned runs while striking out 149 opposing batters.

In 2005, the Aggies and Cowgirls met three times, twice in the regular season and once in the Big 12 Championship at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. The Aggies won all three of the games 2-1, 7-2 and 7-5. A&M holds the all-time series 30-19.
