Texas A&M freshman Bronson Burgoon fired a four-under-par 68 at Cypresswood Golf Club on Monday to earn a spot in the PGA TOUR's Shell Houston Open, which begins on Thursday at Redstone Golf Club.
Burgoon emerged from a three-man, six-hole playoff for one of the final two spots in the field. He carded a 67 in the tournament pre-qualifier on April 12.
A&M will be well-represented in the Shell Houston Open as Burgoon joins four former A&M players in the field -- Jeff Maggert, Ryan Palmer, Shane Bertsch and Stephen Reed.
