"Texas is coming off a loss to Kansas, so I'm sure they are looking to get back on the right track," commented A&M head coach Jo Evans. "They have been very consistent throughout the season and we are one of the very few teams that have had success against them. We have faced them twice this season and our team has performed very well in both games. It will be nice to play them in front of a packed house at our stadium. I'm expecting this to be a great game."

The Aggies posted two wins this past weekend against the Missouri Tigers. Megan Gibson struck out a career high 10-batters in the 4-2 win on Saturday before driving in the game-winning RBI with a solo home run in the 8-0 run rule on Sunday.

Texas comes into Wednesday's game having split the series with Kansas in Lawrence, Kan., 1-0, 0-1. The shutout by Kansas was the Longhorn's first in 20 games, dating back to a 0-2 loss to Michigan in Fullerton, Calif. on March 17.

Jamie Hinshaw continues to have success at the plate for A&M. She's hitting .333 with six home runs, eight doubles, two triples and has driven in 26 runs. Gibson leads the team in home runs (11), RBI (33), on-base percentage (.456) and slugging percentage (.664).

For UT, short stop Desiree Williams is batting .376 with 38 RBI. She's hit 11 home runs with seven doubles and three triples in 50 games played.

The teams have split two previous meetings this season, with Texas defeating A&M 1-0 in the championship game of the Judi Garman Classic in California on March 18 and the Aggies knocking off the Longhorns 4-2 in Austin on April 5. Texas leads the all-time series 13-11.

Advance tickets for Wednesday's game are no longer available. However, a limited number of general admission tickets will be sold at the Aggie Softball Complex Wednesday afternoon, beginning when gates open at 4:30 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early as a large crowd is expected. Wednesday's game will be worth one-half point in the State Farm Lone Star Showdown standings.

In addition to ESPNU's broadcast, live audio and stats will be available on AggieAthletics.com. Fans attending the game can listen to the broadcast inside the stadium on 89.9 FM.
