Texas A&M sophomore Robert Gates, Jr., and senior Andrew Parr have been named to the All-Big 12 Men?â„¢s Golf Team, the league office announced on Friday. The team was determined by the vote of Big 12 head coaches.

Gates led the Aggies in scoring with a 73.12 scoring average and tied for fourth at the Big 12 Championship. He posted eight top-20 finishes in 11 starts, including six top 10s. Gates has posted four top 10 performances in the last five tournaments. Parr was second on the team with a 73.24 average and had seven top-20 finishes. He finished third at the Aggie Invitational.

The pair are A&M?â„¢s first all-conference picks since Stephen Reed made the team in 2003. The last time two Aggies earned all-conference honors was in 1998 when Ryan Palmer and Miguel del Angel made the All-Big 12 team.

A&M, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech are the only Big 12 schools with two all-conference players.

Oklahoma State?â„¢s Pablo Martin was named Big 12 Golfer of the Year, while OSU?â„¢s Jonathan Moore was selected as the top newcomer. Oklahoma?â„¢s Jim Ragan was honored as Coach of the Year.

The No. 6-ranked Aggies are expected to receive a bid to one of three NCAA regionals May 18-20. Bids are announced on May 9. The top 10 teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Championships May 31-June 3 in Sunriver, Ore.
