"I am pleased with the way our team has been playing over the past week," commented A&M head coach Jo Evans. "Our pitchers are giving us a chance to win every game and our offense and defense has been more consistent. Nebraska is having a very good year and this series should be a great one."

The Aggies split the regular season series with the 2nd-ranked Texas Longhorns on Wednesday with a 1-0 loss at the Aggie Softball Complex. The game was a pitcher's dual as A&M's Amanda Scarborough allowed just one run on four hits while UT's Cat Osterman threw a one-hit, shutout.

The Huskers managed a two-out, eighth-inning single from senior Katie Linke to defeat Creighton, 4-3, in a make-up game on Thursday night at Bowlin Stadium. Nebraska is currently on a five-game winning streak.

Jamie Hinshaw is batting .326 for A&M with 26 RBI on eight doubles, two triples and six home runs. Megan Gibson leads the team in home runs (11), RBI (33), slugging percentage (.658) and on-base percentage (.461). In the circle, Gibson is 15-4 with a 2.57 ERA in 125.1 innings of work.

For Nebraska, Lizzy Aumua is hitting .400 with 16 RBI on five doubles and three triples. Crystal Carwile holds the team lead in home runs (12) and RBI (40). On the mound, Ashley DeBurh is 20-6 with a 1.55 ERA in 158.1 innings of work.

Last season the Aggies swept the Huskers at home, 4-2, 6-0. The wins extended A&M's best start in school history, as they improved to 31-2 with a 15-game winning streak. Scarborough also extended her streak of innings without allowing an earned run to 44. The Aggies hold the all-time series against the Huskers, 25-20.
