Texas A&M freshman Bronson Burgoon has been named to the American team for the inaugural USA-China Friendship Cup set for July 27-29 at Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont, Calif.
Team USA will consist of eight men and four women, all true freshmen. Joining Burgoon will be Vanderbilt?â„¢s Jacqui Concolino, Sam Cyr of Point Loma, Arizona?â„¢s Ben Fox, Chris Killmer of Cal. State-Bakersfield, Kimbra Kosak of Gustavus Adolphus, Loyola Marymount?â„¢s Brian Locke, Chris Moore of Allegheny, Arizona State?â„¢s Jennifer Osborn, Kristi Piepenbrink of Indianapolis, Georgia Tech?â„¢s Cameron Tringale and Brett Willis of Central Alabama Community College.
Burgoon led the Aggies in scoring this season with a 73.03 average, a record for an A&M freshman.
The bi-annual Friendship Cup will be played in Beijing in the summer of 2008 just prior to the Summer Olympics. The event will return to the United States in 2010.
