The Texas A&M soccer team has five players on two separate teams competing in the 2006 US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Championships at Burns Park Soccer Complex in Little Rock, Ark.

Incoming freshman, Amber Gnatzig, Whitney Hooper and Nicole Ketchum are playing for the U18 South Texas TSC Challenge 88s, which, earlier today, beat the Arkansas Little Rock Futball club '88 team, 7-0. Ketchum, who will clock time as a defender in the fall, scored one of the seven Challenge ?'88?â„¢s goals.

In the U19 Division, sophomores Laura Grace Robinson and Micah Stephens helped the North Texas, Dallas Sting Royal '87 beat a South Texas opponent in the Eclipse '87 black, 2-0.

Both the Challenge and Sting Royal will continue pool play through Sunday afternoon with bracket play beginning on Monday, July 3rd.

The winners of each division will go on to compete in the 2006 US Youth Soccer National Championships at James W. Cownie Soccer Park in Des Moines, Iowa from July 24-30.
