Texas A&M sophomore soccer players, Laura Grace Robinson and Micah Stephens, along with the Sting Royal '87 out of North Texas will compete in the U19 National Championship Series at the James W. Cownie Soccer Park in Des Moines, Iowa, beginning on July 26.
The Sting Royal ?â„¢87 earned its trip to Des Moines after winning the 2006 US Youth Soccer Southern Regionals held this past week in Little Rock, Ark., with a 1-0 victory over North Carolina CASL Spartan Elite.
Robinson, who patrols the midfield for the Aggies and was named to the 2005 Big 12 Newcomer Team, found the back of the net twice in the 4-1 semifinal win over Concorde Fire Elite from Georgia.
The 2006 US Youth Soccer National Championship Series is the country?â„¢s most prestigious national youth soccer tournament, providing approximately 185,000 players on more than 10,000 teams from US Youth Soccer?â„¢s 55 State Associations the opportunity to showcase their soccer skills against the best competition in the nation while emphasizing teamwork, discipline and fair play.
