Texas A&M's Josh Carter and Dominique Kirk combined for 31 points, but Athletes in Action lost to Qatar, 83-77, on Tuesday in the William Jones Cup at the Taipei Physical Education College Gym.
AIA falls to 3-1 in the tournament while Qatar remains undefeated at 4-0.
Qater led by as many as 17 points in the second half, but the Americans rallied to within five points several times. Kirk finished with 17 points and Carter added 14 points and 11 rebounds.
"We didn't get enough rebounds," Kirk said. "We didn't execute enough against a great team."
Qatar is preparing for the World Cup of basketball in Japan later this year and also is hosting the Asian Games in December.
Athletes in Action plays Japan on Wednesday.
