Texas A&M softball signee, Macie Morrow was named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA (National Fastpitch Coach?â„¢s Association) High School All-American first team the organization announced.
Morrow, a freshman from Sugar Land, Texas, was a four year letterwinner under head coach David McCorkle at Clements High School. She is one of five additions to the 2007 softball roster.
"Macie is an outstanding athlete and talented softball player", Texas A&M head coach Jo Evans stated. "I am very proud of her and what she has accomplished. I am really looking forward to adding Macie and the rest of the incoming freshmen to our team this fall. She brings a lot of speed and versatility to the game and is capable of making a serious impact both offensively and defensively."
Morrow received high school first team All-American accolades for the first time in 2005. She was the first team 20-5A All-District CO-MVP. Morrow was a member of the NFCA All-State Team in 2004 and 2005; she was also a first team 20-5A All-District selection in 2003 and 2004. Morrow lead All-Greater Houston in stolen bases in 2004 (34) and garnered the highest batting average in 2005 (.622). She was her softball team MVP in 2004 and 2005. She played travel ball for the Magic Gold.
NOTE: The 2007 Aggie softball team will report for fall season workouts on Sunday, August 27.
