The Texas A&M football team worked only once on Monday but managed to scrimmage for approximately 60 plays inside Kyle Field.

?It was a typical first scrimmage,? Aggie Head Coach Dennis Franchione said. ?We have a lot of work to do. This is the stage of 2-a-days where you have to learn to practice sore. We have to be mentally and physically tough and fight through some things and do what you can do.?

The Aggies also worked out in the temporary indoor facility for a period of time as well as conducting drills after the scrimmage inside Kyle Field.

When asked about his impressions after a full week of practice, Coach Fran responded, ?I like this team?™s attitude, work habits and their chemistry. This has been a fun group to work with, but now the challenge of 2-a-days and staying focused and continuing to improve is key.?

The Aggies will work twice on Tuesday. All practices are closed to the public.

Texas A&M opens the 2006 season at home against The Citadel with a 6 pm kick on Sept. 2.
