Texas A&M forward, Ashlee Pistorius was named one of "The Elite 12? on the Soccer Buzz Preseason All-America Team, editors of the magazine announced this week.
?This is a neat honor for honor for Ashlee,? said Texas A&M head coach G. Guerrieri. ?It?™s nice to have someone from the Big 12 represented on this team.?
Pistorius garners the honor after a sophomore campaign in which the Bloomington, Ill. native netted a Big 12-leading 22 goals and chipped in 12 assists. Her play in 2005 landed her on the Soccer Buzz All-America 3rd team and the All-Big 12 1st team. She was twice named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 10-16 and Oct. 24-30) and twice earned Soccer America Team of the Week (Oct. 11-17 and Oct. 24-30) honors. Pistorius was also selected to the Soccer Buzz Team of the Week (Oct. 24-30).
Of the 12 players named to the annual Soccer Buzz Preseason All-America list, 10 of the 12 players were from different schools with Florida State and Portland each having two.
