The Texas A&M volleyball team improved to 2-0 with a 30-19, 30-26, 30-25 victory against Missouri State today at the Hilton Classic in Moby Arena.

With the victory, A&M is the only undefeated team in the tournament. The Aggies conclude the event tonight at 5 p.m. against Morgan State, which lost to the Bears, 3-0, on Friday.

A&M began the day by outhitting the Bears, .324 to .051, in the opening game. Freshman Sarah Ammerman, who hails from Parker, Colo., led the Aggies?â„¢ charge, hitting .500 and posting 7 of her match-high 13 kills in the stanza.

There were four lead changes early in the game with A&M taking the lead for good on an Ammerman ace to put the Aggies ahead, 9-8. MSU tied the score at 9-all, before A&M began to pull away. The Aggies went up, 28-19 on a MSU service error and closed out the game with a kill by Ammerman and an ace by Kelsey Bryant.

A&M never trailed in Game 2, but the Bears stayed within six points the entire frame. Erin O?â„¢Conner, who led MSU with 11 kills in the match, put the Bears within three points at 29-26 before Ammerman put the game away with a kill from the back row.

A&M coach Laurie Corbelli subbed in several players from the bench in the third game, including freshman Jenny Banse, who saw the first action of her young career. Although A&M hit only .054 for the game, the Aggies held the Bears to a -.024 hitting percentage en route to completing the sweep.

Christi Hahn joined Ammerman in double-digit kills with 11 for the match, while hitting at a .match-high 556 clip. She also led the team with seven blocks as the Aggies outblocked MSU, 12-6 and also outhit the Bears, .202 to .069.

Mary Batis took match-high dig honors with 13. Bryant, who reached double figures in digs for the second consecutive match and the second time in her career, added 10.
