"OSU is having a great season," commented A&M head coach G Guerrieri. "I really think that this is the best Cowgirl team that they have fielded. They are athletic, organized and talented all over the field, which should make this a very entertaining game for our fans."
A&M is coming off a successful conference-opening weekend that saw them improve to 6-3-1, 2-0-0 in league play. The Aggies shutout the Baylor Lady Bears, 1-0, on Friday in Waco. Senior forward Suzzette Devloo netted the game-winner in the match's 38th minute. The Aggies traveled to Lubbock Sunday to wrap-up the weekend against Texas Tech. Freshman defender Nicole Ketchum netted her first and second collegiate goals, scoring two of the Aggies' four goals on the afternoon. Devloo and junior forward Elisabeth Jones rounded out the scoring attack as A&M defeated the Red Raiders 4-2.
OSU enters the game 8-1-1, 3-0 in Big 12 after knocking off Kansas and Colorado last weekend, 1-0 and 2-1 respectively.
The Aggies hold a 10-0-2 all-time advantage against the Cowgirls. The two teams battled to a 1-1 draw last year in front of 625 fans at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex in Stillwater. Sophomore defender Emily Peterson, a Tulsa native, scored the equalizer in the game's 50th minute. The goal served as the first of her Aggie career.
Fox Soccer Channel will air the match on tape delay at 10:30 p.m. (CST). Free live video of the match will be available on AggieAthletics.com through the new Aggies All-Access. Fans attending the match can listen to the broadcast live inside and around the stadium on 89.9 FM.
