WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The Texas A&M men?s golf team will compete against a stellar field at the PING/Golfweek Preview Monday through Wednesday at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, site of the 2007 NCAA Championships.

The 15-team field includes the top 10 teams from last year's final Golfweek rankings along with five other premier teams. In addition to A&M, competing teams are Oklahoma State, Georgia, Florida, Georgia Tech, UCLA, Arizona State, Clemson, BYU, UNLV, Wake Forest, Minnesota, Kentucky, Washington and host Virginia Commonwealth.

Representing A&M will be Sophomore Bronson Burgoon, juniors Martin Piller, Robert Gates and Trey Todd, and senior Chris Massoletti.

"Playing in the Preview is a big step for our program," A&M Coach J.T.

Higgins said. "It's one of the most highly regarded tournaments of the year and it's an opportunity for us to play four rounds of golf at the site of

this season?s NCAA Championships. Throw in the fact that we get to compete against 14 of the best teams in America and it is easy to see what makes the Preview so special.

"It's great that our team played well enough last year to get us invited

this season, but now we have to do everything possible to turn this into a

tradition and an annual event for Texas A&M golf," Higgins added. "We have played solid so far this fall and we are really close to putting it all

together. I can?t think of a better place for that to happen."
