The 2007 Texas A&M softball team managed an 11-2, 6-inning run-rule over the Temple Junior College Leopards Tuesday night before the power was lost at the Aggie Softball Complex.
The Aggies, who are now 3-0 in fall play, managed 11 hits, five of which came from senior Sharonda McDonald who was 2-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases and two runs scored and freshman Macie Morrow who racked up three hits in three trips to the plate with a sacrifice, three runs scored, a stolen base and one run driven in.
Junior Megan Gibson recorded the win for A&M in the circle, going four innings, giving up four hits, one run and striking out four before senior Christina Smith was brought in for two innings of work. Smith gave up one run on four hits and struck out one Temple JC batter.
A&M and TJC were scheduled to play two games, but do to a power outage; only one inning of the second game could be played, with the Aggies up 5-0 before the contest was called.
The Aggies will continue the fall portion of their schedule on October 11, in a doubleheader against McClennan Junior College. The first of the two-game set is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at the Aggie Softball Complex.
