Texas A&M's Acie Law IV and Joseph Jones have been named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team in a poll of the league's head coaches, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
Law led the Aggies in scoring last season with 16.1 per game and was a first-team All-Big 12 pick by several major newspapers. Jones averaged 15.3 points, led the team in rebounding with 6.5 per game and was a consensus second-team All-Big 12 selection.
Kansas' Brandon Rush and Julian Wright were selected Big 12 Preseason Co-Players of the Year. Texas Tech's Charles Burgess was chosen as newcomer of the year and Texas' Kevin Durant earned freshman of the year accolades.
Joining Law, Jones, Rush and Wright on the all-conference team are Colorado's Richard Roby and Texas Tech's Jarrius Jackson. A tie in the voting created an additional position on the squad.
Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own student-athletes.
