The Texas A&M softball team remains unbeaten in its fall schedule (7-0) with a 13-0 and a 7-2 win over the Blinn College Buccaneers on a chilly Thursday night at the Aggie Softball Complex.
The Aggies belted three home runs in game one to put the run-rule into effect in the fifth inning. Jamie Hinshaw was 2-for-2 with a two-run shot and a triple, driving in and scoring three runs. Also hitting long balls for A&M were Ronda Smith and Amanda Scarborough who each recorded three RBI in the game.
Along with Hinshaw, Sharonda McDonald went 2-for-2 at the plate with two stolen bases and two runs scored.
Megan Gibson started the game in the circle for A&M throwing three complete, giving up no hits while striking out two. Christina Smith completed the shutout throwing two innings and striking out one.
Behind Gibson and Smith, the Aggie defense did not allow the Buccaneers to hit a ball out of the infield.
Scarborough continued to have a great day at the plate as she was 2-for-2 in the second of the two-game set; driving in and scoring a run.
Lisa Gorzycki earned the start in the nightcap, working three complete, striking out three without allowing a hit. Emily Shadow worked the final four innings, and was tagged for two runs on four hits. She struck out one.
