The Texas A&M softball team improved to 5-0 in its fall season with two wins over McClennan Community College last night at the Aggie Softball Complex.

A&M won the first game 6-0, in seven innings. Junior Amanda Scarborough got the start and worked three hitless innings, striking out two before freshman Emily Shadow was brought in to closeout the last four innings. Shadow finished off the shutout giving up four hits and striking out one Highlassie hitter.

At the plate, freshman infielder Alex Reynolds was 1-for-3 with a homerun and drove in two of the Aggies?â„¢ six runs.

A&M put the 8-0 run-rule into effect in five innings in game two as Jamie Hinshaw and Mandy Gegen both went 2-for-3 at the plate. Hinshaw had two RBI and two runs scored while Gegen posted two doubles and a run scored.

Senior Jill Weynand was in the circle in game two completing three innings with no hits and four strikeouts. Fellow senior Lisa Gorzycki threw the final two innings of the game giving up four hits and fanning two MCC batters.

The Aggies return to action tonight against Blinn College. The first of two games is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
