Blake Stouffer went 3-for-5 and Darby Brown drove in three runs on Friday night to lead the Farmers to a 5-3 win over the Plowboys and even the annual Texas A&M Baseball Fall World Series at Olsen Field.
The Farmers pushed the game?â„¢s first run across in the top of the third. Stouffer singled, stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch by Plowboys?â„¢ starter Kyle Nicholson. Brown?â„¢s chopper to short allowed Stouffer to trot home and made the score 1-0.
Brandon Hicks tied the game in the bottom of the third when he hit a towering home run over the wall in left off Farmers?â„¢ starting pitcher Kevin Cravey.
In the top of the fourth, The Farmers regained the lead when Brodie Greene walked and moved to third on a single to right by Josh Stinson. Damon Aaron grounded into a fielder?â„¢s choice, allowing Greene to score from third.
The Farmers scored a single run for the third-straight inning in the top of the fifth to extend their lead to 3-1. Kyle Colligan started the inning with a double off the wall in left and score one batter later on a grounder by Brown.
The Farmers and Cravey escaped a big inning by the Plowboys in the bottom of the fifth. Singles by Hicks and Spencer Jackson and a walk to Austin Boggs loaded the bases with no outs. Cravey then fanned Brian Ruggiano before Luke Anders drove in a run with a fielder?â„¢s choice to cut the Farmers?â„¢ lead to 3-2. A flyout by Stinson ended the inning and the threat.
The Farmers added a pair of insurance runs in the top of the ninth to take a 5-2 lead. Stouffer doubled and scored on a single Colligan. Colligan scored one batter later on a double to left by Brown.
The insurance runs paid off as the Plowboys mounted a comeback in the bottom of the ninth. A walk and a double had runners on second and third with one out. Ruggiano grounded out to score a run and after Keith McInnerney walked to put the tying run on base Chambless struck out Justin Walker to end the game and earn the save.

Nicholson lasted seven-complete innings and allowed three runs on 10 hits in suffering the loss.
Scott Migl threw 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief for the Farmers. Chambless allowed a run in 1 1/3 innings and struck out two.
