The Texas A&M women?â„¢s swimming & diving team is ranked No. 9 in the nation in the first College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) dual meet poll released today.

The Aggies (2-0) are coming off an impressive weekend which saw them earn a 115-87 win over the University of Texas at the Big 12 Relays in Lincoln, Neb. The Aggies swept all 16 swimming events in its most dominant performance ever against the Longhorns. A day later, A&M cruised to 187-101 and 178-117 wins over Missouri and Nebraska, respectively.

The Aggies?â„¢ No. 9 ranking is the second-highest in school history. A&M ranked in a tie for eighth during December of 2004 before losing a tight meet to No. 10 Wisconsin on the winter training trip in Hawai?â„¢i on Jan. 7, 2005.

Texas A&M ended last season ranked No. 11 in the final CSCAA poll and eventually finished 11th at the NCAA Championships.

Several opponents on the Texas A&M schedule are ranked as well. The Longhorns, who the Aggies just defeated in Nebraska, rank No. 11, while always-tough SMU is one spot ahead of A&M at No. 8. The Aggies will welcome the eighth-ranked Mustangs and No. 10 Michigan, among others, to the Art Adamson Invitational on Nov. 17-19.

The Aggies next meet will be at home in the Student Rec Center Natatorium against No. 25 Oregon State. Admission is free and live video streaming of the meet is planned on AggieAthletics.com.
