The Texas A&M soccer team will participate in the Annual College Station ALS Walk to d?™Feet on Saturday morning at Central Park.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's disease," is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body.

"ALS is a disease that affects not only the patient but the entire family,? said senior captain Annie Burnett. ?The Spisaks have been a part of our soccer family for the past five years. This is a great opportunity for our soccer team to not only support the Spisaks, but all families affected by ALS."

The College Station walk for ALS is in support of the Greater Houston Chapter which offers support, advocacy efforts, public awareness and education as well as enabling research for a cure and improving quality of life to those affected in Angelina, Austin, Brazoria, Brazos, Burleson, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Hardin, Harris, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Madison, Matagorda, Montgomery, Newton, Orange, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Tyler, Walker, Waller, Washington, and Wharton counties.

It is FREE to participate in the walk, all you have to do is register at http://www.active.com/register/index.cfm?event_id=1352608.
