The Aggies enter the game having beat Iowa State at home on Friday, 7-0. The victory was the Aggies' ninth straight win, fourth consecutive shutout and improved A&M's record to a perfect 8-0-0 in Big 12 play, 12-3-1 overall. Five different Aggies contributed to the scoring barrage (Ashlee Pistorius, Amy Berend, Kat Krambeer, Melissa Garey and Suzzette Devloo). Pistorius earned her fourth career hat-trick scoring three of A&M's seven goals.
Missouri was in Austin on Friday night taking on the 14th-ranked Texas Longhorns, and dropped a tough 1-0 decision. Near the end of the first half, Texas was able to capitalize on an uncleared corner kick to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. Texas held Missouri to just five shots the entire match and did not allow the Tigers to take a corner kick. The loss dropped Missouri to 9-8-0, 1-7-0 in the league.
"Mizzou is a quality, well coached team," said A&M head coach G Guerrieri. "They have great players throughout their line-up and have always been a tough opponent for us. We've had some great battles with them over the years, and I'm sure that this will be another tough challenge for our team."
The Aggies hold the all-time series record against the Tigers (8-4-1). In 2005 the two teams met twice, with A&M winning both games. In regular season play, the Aggies beat Mizzou 3-2 in front of a record setting crowd of 714 at the Audrey J. Walton Complex, to open Big 12 play. Then at the Big 12 Championship in San Antonio, A&M posted a 3-1 victory at the Blossom Soccer Stadium. The win advanced the Aggies to a semifinal match of the tournament.
Sunday's game is youth soccer day at the stadium. All kids who wear their soccer jersey to the match will be admitted free of charge.
Live audio and stats of the match will be available on AggieAthletics.com. Gates open at 11 a.m. Parking for the match is available in lots designated 100g, 100j or 100k.
