Texas A&M?â„¢s Israel Duran and Eric Sehn swept the first installment of the Big 12 Men?â„¢s Swimmer and Diver of the Week after stellar starts to the 2006-07 season, the conference office announced on Wednesday.

Duran, a true freshman from Tijuana, Mexico, grabbed the Big 12 Swimmer of the Week honor after posting four first-place finishes ?- including three in individual races ?- in the Aggies?â„¢ dual meet victory over Missouri on Oct. 15. Duran swam to victory in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly and the 200 backstroke, and swam the fly leg on the 200 medley relay. Duran also swam legs on six relays at the Big 12 Relays on Oct. 14, and notched runner-up finishes in four races.

Sehn, a junior from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, also played a huge role in the Aggies?â„¢ dual meet win over the Tigers by sweeping the 1- and 3-meter springboard dives. Sehn scored 274.50 on the 1-meter and 264.90 on the 3-meter on his way to victory. At the Big 12 Relays, Sehn combined with freshmen teammates Matt Platt and Henry Stevens to tally second-place finishes in the 1- and 3-meter boards.

Taking the women?â„¢s weekly Big 12 honors were swimmer Lauren Bailey of Nebraska and diver Mary Yarrison of Texas.
