The Aggies improved to 13-3-1 on the season and clinched its third consecutive Big 12 regular season championship as they improved to a sound 9-0-0 in league play, after defeating both Iowa State and Missouri at home last weekend. Junior forward Ashlee Pistorius recorded her fourth career hat trick to lead the scoring attack. Four more Aggies (juniors Amy Berend and Melissa Garey and seniors Kat Krambeer and Suzzette Devloo) would answer with goals of their own as A&M blew past the Cyclones 7-0 on Friday. A&M came back Sunday with goals from Garey, Krambeer, Paige Carmichael, and Pistorius to lead the Aggies to a 4-2 win over the University of Missouri. With the win the Aggies secured the No. 1 seed at the Big 12 Tournament in San Antonio (Nov. 1-5).

The Longhorns enter Friday's match at 13-3-1 overall and 5-1-1 in Big 12 play after also posting wins over Missouri and Iowa State last weekend. Texas slipped past Missouri, 1-0, on Friday as senior midfielder Carrie Schmidt scored the game's lone goal in the 40th minute off a corner kick. The Horns then defeated Iowa State, 4-1, on Sunday with senior Amy Burlingham, junior Kelsey Carpenter, sophomore Stephanie Logterman and freshman Emily Anderson scoring goals for Texas.

A&M holds the all-time series lead against the Longhorns, 16-2-0. The last match-up between the two teams was in 2005 in front of 1,906 fans at Mike Myers Stadium in Austin. Kasey Moore got Texas on the board first in the game's 46th minute. Caitlin Kennedy would tack another goal on for the Horns just four minutes later. Melissa Garey netted a goal at the 67:33 mark to bring the score within one, but despite a hard battle the Aggies were unable to score the equalizer, dropping a tough 2-1 decision.

Junior forward Ashlee Pistorius has been named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week as well as being named to the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week for her combined four-goal effort against Iowa State and Missouri last weekend.
