Texas A&M junior forward Ashlee Pistorius has been named one of 15 semifinalists for the 2006 Missouri Athletic Club?â„¢s Hermann Trophy, the selection committee announced.

The M.A.C. Hermann Trophy honors the top male and female Division I college soccer players in the United States. The award is college soccer?â„¢s version of the Heisman Trophy and represents the highest level of individual achievement in the sport.

Pistorius, an All-Big 12 selection for the third time this season, currently leads the Aggies in total points (33) and is third all-time in career goals (55). She has started all 22 matches; recording four multi-goal games this season and has posted 10 goals in the Aggies?â„¢ last seven matches. Pistorius also netted the game-winning goal against North Carolina in double overtime to hand the Tar Heels their only loss this year.

The winner of the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy will be determined in voting by NSCAA Division I member coaches. Three men's and three women's finalists will be announced on Monday, Nov. 27.

The winners will be announced at a banquet in St. Louis, Mo., hosted by the Missouri Athletic Club on Saturday, Dec. 2, where they will be presented with the prestigious crystal soccer ball which has come to symbolize the highest individual achievement in intercollegiate soccer.

NOTE: The Aggies will be facing the Virginia Cavaliers in the NCAA Third Round at the Aggie Soccer Stadium on Friday. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.
