All-American diver Eric Sehn continues to impress, winning the three-meter springboard on day two of the inaugural Art Adamson Invitational on Saturday at the TAMU Student Rec Natatorium.
After two days of swimming and diving, the Aggie men are in third place with 680 points trailing LSU (733) and SMU(682). Pacific is in fourth with 479 points.
Sehn recorded a new personal best, set a school record, and became the only A&M diver to ever score more than 400 points in the event with a score of 407.15.
?I?™m very happy with my performance today. You always try to break 400, that?™s a good score,? Said Sehn. ?Everything went right. I put in my hard dives for the final. I still have some work to do, but overall I?™m very, very happy.?
The depth of the Aggie swimmers continues to be the strength of the team. The Aggies took third and fourth in the 200-yard medley relay. They also placed two swimmers in the ?A? Final of the 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, and 100-yard backstroke.
?Obviously we?™re in a heated team race which makes for a fun meet,? Aggie head swimming coach Jay Holmes said. ?We need to win some races. We?™ve got depth and that?™s helping us score points, but we need to win some races. We?™re doing the right things. We hope to have a great morning. The third morning is a key session during these championship meets.?
The Art Adamson Invitational continues on Sunday with the prelims at 10 a.m. and the finals at 5 p.m. Admission is free.
