Thirteen players from the 9-3 Texas A&M football team were named to the 2006 AT&T All-Big 12 squad as selected by the conference head coaches, the Big 12 announced on Tuesday.

Leading the way for the Aggies was senior safety Melvin Bullitt, who was the Aggies' lone first-team selection on the Coaches team, and junior linebacker Misi Tupe, who was named Defensive Newcomer of the Year.

The Aggies put four players on the Big 12's second team: running back Jorvorskie Lane, fullback Chris Alexander, tight end Martellus Bennett and offensive center Cody Wallace.

Eight players were named to the Big 12's honorable mention team: punter Justin Brantly, running back Mike Goodson, offensive guard Kirk Elder, defensive end Chris Harrington, quarterback Stephen McGee, wide receiver Chad Schroeder, linebacker Justin Warren and Tupe.

In other news, the Aggies had two first-teamers and six second-teamers on the All-Big 12 team selected by the Kansas City Star. Garnering first-team honors were Lane and Elder, while second-team kudos were earned by Harrington, Warren, Bullitt and Brantly.
