The Texas A&M men?â„¢s swimming and diving team dropped a 176-124 decision to Kentucky in dual meet action on Saturday at the Lancaster Aquatic Center.

The Aggies tallied six individual wins in the meet ?- four in the pool and two in diving ?- and were second in four other races. With the loss, the Aggies fall to 1-2 in dual meet action.

?We?â„¢re putting in a lot of work during the week and still asking these guys to find a way to perform in the meets,? Aggie head swimming coach Jay Holmes said. ?Overall, I?â„¢m pleased with the way we competed and swam, but it?â„¢s not any fun getting beat. Good things are going to come to these guys down the road, but they are paying the price right now.?

Six-time Big 12 diving champion Eric Sehn improved his season record to 9-0 with two more wins on Saturday. Sehn won the 1-meter springboard with a score of 301.95 and the 3-meter with a total of 348.15, and both were NCAA qualifying scores.

Freshman Israel Duran continued his strong first season with wins in the 100- and 200-yard butterflies. Duran took the 100 fly in 49.72 and the 200 fly in 1:50.82. Duran also placed second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:50.84.

Junior Alejandro Jacobo also pulled double duty with wins in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:03.85) and the 200 individual medley (1:56.46). Jacobo grabbed a silver medal in the 100 breast with a time of 56.36.

Other swimmers taking runner-up finishes were senior Francisco Picasso in the 100 freestyle (46.25) and freshman Jason Bergstrom in the 100 backstroke (51.99).

The Aggies took second in both relays with the foursome of freshman Gregory Widmer, Picasso, sophomore transfer Shawn Clarke and freshman Casey Strange finishing in 1:23.32 in the 200 free relay, and the foursome of Duran, Jacobo, Clarke and Picasso hitting the wall in 1:32.12.
