Five Texas A&M soccer players earned 2006 NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division I Women All-Central Region honors, the association announced.
First team selections included junior midfielder Paige Carmichael and junior forward Ashlee Pistorius. Amy Berend, a junior midfielder, earned a spot on the second team, while freshman goalkeeper Kristin Arnold and sophomore defender Emily Peterson were honored as members of the third team.
Carmichael started 23 games in the midfield for the Aggies, scoring a goal and posting six assists on the season.
Pistorius a junior forward earned her third first team honor after registering a team leading 15 goals while chipping in five assists.
Berend, also a previous All-Central Region selection, netted four goals and five assists as a starter in the Aggie midfield.
Arnold posted a 15-5-1 record while logging just over 1,904 minutes in the net for the Aggies. She maintained a 0.90 goals against average, the fourth best by an Aggie keeper in a single season, second best by an Aggie freshman keeper.
Peterson started 23 of A&M?â„¢s 24 matches on an Aggie backline that posted 12 shutouts, five of which came in Big 12 play.
All five of the Aggie selections were members of the All-Big 12 first or second team. The five honorees were also the most players selected by any Central Region team.
