Texas A&M junior outfielder Blake Stouffer was named to the watch list for the 2007 Brooks Wallace Award.
The College Baseball Foundation presents the award annually to the national college baseball player of the year. The list will be trimmed to 12 semifinalists in late May and to three finalists following the NCAA Super Regionals.
Last season, Stouffer led the Aggies with 17 stolen bases in 24 attempts. He hit .259 with three home runs and 15 RBI. This past summer, Stouffer hit .292 with 23 stolen bases for Athletes in Action in the Alaskan Collegiate League.
The Aggies open the 2007 season against Texas Southern on February 6. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Olsen Field.
