The No. 21-ranked Texas A&M football team had a crisp two-hour workout on Monday as the Aggies continued to prepare for Thursday?â„¢s Holiday Bowl matchup against No. 19 California.
The Aggies drilled for half the practice in shorts and shells and then removed their shoulder pads midway through the workout.
?We want to keep them fresh,? Aggie head coach Dennis Franchione said. ?We had a good, hard, physical practice on Saturday and a good padded day yesterday, so I wanted about half the practice in pads today. We actually shortened (the practice) about 10 minutes. I want them fresh for the game.?
After the workout at UCSD, the Aggies spent the afternoon at the San Diego Zoo.
