Christi Hahn of Texas A&M has received All-Central Region honorable mention recognition, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced today.
Hahn, a senior middle blocker from Leander, Texas, started every match and played in every game for the Aggies (12-16, 5-15 Big 12) this season. She led the team and ranks second in the Big 12 with a .373 hitting percentage, the third highest hitting percentage in A&M season annals.
A four-year letterwinner and three-year starter for the Aggies, Hahn posted double figures in kills in 20 matches this season, including three 20-plus kill performances. She also led the Aggies with 4.13 points per game and ranked second on the team with 3.35 kills per game for the full season.
Hahn completed her stellar career with a .333 hitting percentage, ranking second in the A&M career records.
Earlier this season, Hahn was tabbed a first-team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America and also was selected to the All-Big 12 first team by the conference coaches. Hahn was named to the preseason All-Big 12 team prior to the start of the season and went on to be named to the all-tournament team in every tournament A&M participated in this season, including tournament MVP honors at the Colorado State Hilton Classic. Hahn, who sports a 4.0 cumulative grade-point average while majoring in kinesiology/exercise science, also received other academic honors, including a second consecutive appearance on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team and a third straight appearance on the Academic All-Big 12 Volleyball first team.
The central region includes 39 teams from the Big 12, Mid-Continent, Missouri Valley and Southland Conferences, in addition to independent Texas-Pan American. Eleven of the 12 first-team members represent the Big 12. Six players received honorable mention, including four players from the Big 12.
