
Parr Wins Opening Match at British Amateur

Texas A&M's Andrew Parr defeated Great Britain's William Bowe, 6 and 4, on Wednesday in the first round of match play at the British Amateur Championship at Royal St. George's Golf Club.
Parr will play Great Britain's James Morrison in Thursday's second round.
Parr finished ninth in stroke play qualifying on Tuesday with rounds of 72-74=146. He was one of 64 players advancing to match play.
Parr finished his senior season at A&M earlier this month with a top-15 finish at the NCAA Championships, earning honorable mention All-America honors. Parr owns the A&M records for career rounds played (150) and career rounds of par or better (48).
