Texas A&M?â„¢s Josh Carter and Oklahoma?â„¢ s Longar Longar have been chosen as Phillips 66 Big 12 Men?â„¢s Basketball Players of the Week for games of Dec. 25 - Jan. 1 in voting by a panel of media covering the conference. Longar and Carter are honored for the first time.
Texas?â„¢ freshman Kevin Durant was named Big 12 Rookie of the Week, the fourth time he?â„¢s received the honor this season.
A sophomore from Dallas, Carter led A&M to a 101-27 win over Grambling State last Thursday. He tied a Big 12 record with seven 3-pointers in the first half en route to tying the school mark with eight for the game. He finished with 24 points on 8-of-14 (.571) shooting, including 8-of-13 from beyond the arc.He is averaging 19.0 points in his last four outings.
