The Texas A&M-North Texas women?â„¢s swimming & diving dual meet scheduled for today has been cancelled due to inclement weather.
The Aggies, who stayed in the Dallas area overnight following Saturday?â„¢s 178.5-115.5 win over No. 7 SMU, had planned on competing against the Mean Green at 11 a.m. today however constant rain and sleet combined with freezing temperatures caused roads north of Dallas to ice overnight. Roads are predicted to ice even further south as Sunday progresses.
?The strong threat of icy roads was just too much of a risk to take,? A&M head coach Steve Bultman said. ?Both our staffs just felt like it was the smartest thing to do for the safety of our athletes.?
A&M (7-0) will spend this week preparing for its final two dual meets of the season. The Aggies will travel to the University of Houston on Friday before hosting Louisiana State on Senior Day this Saturday at noon.
