Funeral services for Hall of Fame basketball coach Shelby Metcalf are set for 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12 at First United Methodist Church in Bryan, Texas. The church is located at 506 E. 28 th Street, Bryan, TX 77803 (979-775-0205).

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11 at Hillier Funeral Home, 2301 E. 29th Street, Bryan, TX 77802 (979-822-1571).

Coach Metcalf, the winningest basketball coach in Texas A&M history as well as the winningest coach in Southwest Conference history, passed away late Thursday at the College Station Medical Center with his family by his side after battling a lengthy illness.

Coach Metcalf is survived by his wife, Janis, and daughter Shelley; son-in-law Jack Valerius, and Coach Metcalf?â„¢s twin grandchildren, Matthew (Matt) Shelby and Kathryn (Katy) Janis Valerius.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brazos Valley Hospice or the Brazos Valley Animal Shelter.
