"This should be a great series with Arizona," commented A&M head coach Jo Evans. "They are a program that many schools in the nation try to emulate. They play the game the way it should be played and our players and staff have learned a lot competing against them. We played well against them a couple weeks ago and we will have to continue to play well to beat them on their home field. We look forward to the challenge of playing in front of their home crowd."
Fans can listen to all games this weekend live and free of charge on aggieathletics.com through the new Aggies All-Access. Those attending the games can listen to the action inside Hillenbrand Stadium on or around 89.9 FM. Friday and Saturday's games will also be aired locally in Bryan/College Station on Sports Radio 1150 The Zone.
A&M enters the weekend after posting its best start in school history. This will mark the second time, already, this season that A&M and Arizona have faced off, with the Aggies winning the first meeting 3-2 at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz.
Junior Megan Gibson holds a .538 batting average having hit three long balls, driven in eight RBI and has drawn 13 free passes.
Arizona (9-2) is returning to action against the Aggies after posting a 5-0 weekend, beating Temple (9-1), Texas Tech (1-0, 8-1), Virginia (12-3), and Middle Tennessee State (7-3) to win the Worth Wildcat Invitational.
Senior center fielder, Caitlin Lowe is leading the way for Wildcat batters, hitting .500 with two doubles, four RBI and is 12-for-12 in stolen bases.
First pitch for Friday and Saturday's games will be at 8 p.m. and Sunday's rubber match is set to begin at 1 p.m. (CDT).
